PROVIDENCE, R.I. – No. 13 Boston College won its first game of the season in heroic fashion as junior captain Casey Fitzgerald scored a pair of goals, including the game-winning goal, 69 seconds into the overtime session as the Eagles downed Providence on the road, 4-3, Sunday afternoon.
Boston College scored four unanswered goals starting midway through the second period as Christopher Grando and Graham McPhee also scored in BC's first win of the season and in Hockey East play.
Sophomore backstopper Joseph Woll stopped 31 shots in his first triumph of the season.
