CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Rising senior defenseman Eamon Powell has been elected to serve as captain of the Boston College men's hockey team for the 2023-24 season. Rising senior forward Gentry Shamburger will serve as an assistant captain for the Eagles.
Both players were chosen to serve in leadership roles by their teammates. It marks the second straight season that a defenseman will wear the 'C' for the Eagles as Powell takes over the captaincy from Marshall Warren.
Powell nearly doubled his career point total as a junior last season with five goals and 17 assists for 22 points, eclipsing his previous career-high of 14 points as a freshman.
