DURHAM, N.C. – The Boston College baseball team upset top-seed Louisville, 5-1, to win Pool A of the ACC Championship at Durham Bulls Athletics Park on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles advanced to Saturday's semifinals with a 31-26 record; having won nine of their last 11 games.
Senior left-hander Dan Metzdorf (Burlington, Mass.) dominated on the mound in a complete game effort. He limited the ACC's top hitting lineup to just one unearned run on three hits in nine innings. Metzdorf (8-2) struck out seven and walked four.
