Eagles Topped by Panthers Friday Night

BRIGHTON, Mass. – The Boston College baseball team suffered a 13-3 loss to Pittsburgh at the Harrington Athletics Village on Friday night. The Eagles (13-16, 2-11 ACC) led early with a run in the first, but the Panthers rattled off 10 runs between the second and sixth before BC pushed across another run.

Pitt right-hander Matt Gilbertson (5-2) surrendered three singles with one out in the bottom of the first as his team trailed early. He limited the damage to a single run with an inning-ending double play. The Eagles got the leadoff man aboard in each of the first three innings, but the Panthers turned a double play in all three frames.
