FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The No. 9 Boston College field hockey team continued their now-four game win streak as they defeated Fairfield on the road, 3-0, Sunday afternoon. The Eagles were well-rested after a week with no contest, as graduate student recorded two goals in the first half and junior found her first goal of the season.
Matherson first capitalized off of a corner, as the initial shot from sophomore was blocked and hopped into the air. Matherson tapped it in while it was in the air and pushed it past Fairfield goalkeeper Zoe Rosen.
Her second goal came through a bit of chaos in front of the net, finding the final shot after some quick Eagle passing moves.
