CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College men’s hockey team was tabbed the team to beat as the Eagles earned the No. 1 preseason ranking according to the USCHO.com Division I men’s poll unveiled on Monday afternoon.
The Eagles collected 19 first-place votes, joining a record nine other programs to receive at least one first-place vote. Boston College collected 907 total points, 31 ahead of second-ranked Minnesota-Duluth (836 – 12 first-place votes). Boston University rounded out the top three, notching six first-place votes and 820 points.
Providence, tabbed seventh overall, earned six first-place votes, while UMass Lowell grabbed a pair.
