WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – No. 17 Boston College was shutout at No. 2 Wake Forest, 6-0, at David F. Couch Ballpark on Friday night. The Eagles dropped to 29-15 overall and 13-12 in the ACC, while the Demon Deacons improved to 38-6 and 17-4.
Right-hander Rhett Lowder (10-0) put up seven-shutout innings with nine strikeouts to lead the Wake victory. He scattered five hits, a walk and a hit batter as he left six runners on base and held BC to 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position.
The Demon Deacons hit four home runs on the night, all solo, including two from first baseman Nick Kurtz.
