Eagles Past and Present Qualify for 121st U.S. Amateur

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Boston College men's golf will be well-represented at the 2021 United States Amateur Championship. Incoming freshman Benjamin Hong, as well as recent graduate Christian Cavaliere, qualified for the 121st U.S. Amateur to be held Aug. 9-15 at the Oakmont C.C. in Oakmont, Pa.

Hong won his qualifier by three strokes, firing a 7-under par 133 for the 36-hole tournament at the Goose Creek G.C. in Juripa Valley, Calif. Hong opened play with a 4-under 66, carding six birdies during his opening 18 holes of play. He followed that with a second round 67 (-3), registering four more birds.
