CLEMSON, S.C. – The Boston College baseball lost its series opener to Clemson, 15-1, at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Friday night. Senior right-hander Joe Mancini (Fairfield, Conn.) avoided the big inning, but the Tigers (33-21, 11-16 ACC) scored in every inning after the second.
Mancini (4-4) struck out seven in six innings of work. He allowed eight runs, six earned, on eight hits and three walks before being lifted after a leadoff-walk in the seventh.
Righty Mack Anglin (6-5) went seven innings to get the win for Clemson. His only run allowed came in the third as BC briefly led 1-0.
