WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The third-seeded Boston College Eagles defeated the No. 2 seed Duke Blue Devils 2-1 (2-0 SO) on Wednesday evening. BC improves to 14-5 and will face the undefeated North Carolina Tar Heels in the ACC championship game on Friday at noon. This is the first championship appearance for the Eagles since 2019, when they went on to reach the NCAA Final Four.
After a defensive-heavy first half, which primarily saw play in the midfield, Duke got on the board first three minutes into the second half on a penalty corner, with Kira Curland scoring off an assist from Macy Szukis.
