AUBURN, Ala. – No. 18 Boston College lost its weekend finale, 9-1, as No. 25 Auburn grabbed the series win at Plainsman Park on Sunday. The Eagles dropped to 7-3, while the Tigers improved to 8-3.
BC claimed a brief lead in the second inning, but Auburn responded immediately with a two-run home run off the bat of designated hitter Cam Hill. On the day, Hill went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a walk.
The Tigers pulled away with five runs on six hits and a walk in the fourth inning despite three strikeouts by graduate right-hander Alex Stiegler (Dallas, Texas).
