FORT MYERS, Fla. – BC softball fell to Belmont University 9-3 on Sunday morning. The Eagles drop to .500 at 5-5, while the Bruins improve to 3-2.
Freshman pitcher Abby Dunning made her fourth start of the season, going 2.1 innings before handing the ball off to Peyton Schnackenberg, who pitched the final 4.2 innings for the Eagles, striking out a season-high 11 hitters.
Offensively, BC collected 9 hits, including two from Hannah Slike. Junior Djhane Valido collected her first extra base hit of 2022 with a double in the third inning.
