EVANSTON, Ill. – The Boston College field hockey team fell late in the fourth quarter to the No. 15 Northwestern on Sunday in Evanston, Illinois, 3-2.
Leading the way for the Eagles were Margo Carlin and Fusine Govaert, who each notched goals on the afternoon. Throughout the game, BC outshot Northwestern 17-9, while the Wildcats had four penalty corners to the Eagles' two.
Northwestern opened the scoring 9:59 into the first period before Carlin would bury one of her own with one second showing on the scoreboard.
The two teams then went scoreless in the second period, before Govaert scored her third goal of the season, two minutes into the third.
