BOSTON – No. 4 Boston University opened a weekend series against Boston College with a 6-3 Hockey East victory in the 289th Battle of Comm Ave on Friday night at Agganis Arena.
Eagles suffered just the third loss in their last 10 visits to Agganis, falling to 9-7-5 overall and 5-4-4 in Hockey East, while the Terriers improved to 18-6-0 (12-4-0 HEA).
BC capitalized on the first power play of the night midway through the first period to open the scoring. Cutter Gauthier's right wing effort deflected off Andre Gasseau into the slot and Trevor Kuntar batted the puck past a sprawling Drew Commesso (24 saves) at 10:43.
