PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Boston College baseball lost game one of a doubleheader to No. 16 Pittsburgh, 4-3, at Charles L. Cost Field on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles, who led 3-2 in the eighth, dropped to 19-25 overall and 8-21 in ACC play, while the Panthers improved to 22-12 and 16-10.
Junior right-handed pitcher Mason Pelio (San Diego, Calif.) went six innings and stranded a pair to keep the game tied 2-2 through six. He struck out six and walked three, while allowing two runs on six hits.
Pelio was briefly in line for the win as BC plated a run in the top of the seventh.
