LOWELL, Mass. – 15th-ranked UMass Lowell clinched the regular season series against Boston College with a 3-0 Hockey East victory at Tsongas Center on Friday night. The River Hawks extended their unbeaten streak to nine straight games (8-0-1) and ended BC's run at three.
The Eagles (10-13-3) dropped to 9-5-3 in Hockey East and fell a point behind Lowell (16-8-2, 10-4-2 HEA) for second place in the standings.
After a tight, defensive first period, UMass Lowell scored all three of its goals in the middle frame to take control of the contest.
