NEWTON, Mass. – Boston College field hockey (1-1) dropped its home opener against Fairfield (1-1) on Sunday, Sept. 1 at the Newton Field Hockey Complex, 3-2 in overtime.
Leading the way for the Eagles was junior and freshman , who each scored. also notched her first point of the season, picking up an assist on Govaert's goal.
Boston College opened the scoring in the first period, when Govaert found the back of the cage on a penalty corner off a pass from Caron. It was one of Govaert's 12 shots throughout the game.
Then, nearly 30 minutes later, Carlin scored on a break away from the right corner to give the Eagles a two-goal lead.
