BRIGHTON, Mass. – The Boston College softball team fell to UMass, 8-3, in a mid-week non-conference game at the Harrington Athletics Village. The Eagles dropped to 10-17 overall, while UMass improved to 13-13.
Boston College went up 1-0 as freshman (2-for-3, 2 runs, 1 RBI, 2 stolen bases) scored on an error by UMass. BC gave the run back as UMass scored on an error in the third inning.
Freshman (2-for-3, 1 RBI) singled to right center scoring Mataya to give BC a 2-1 lead after three innings.
The Minutewomen would push three runs past the plate in the fourth inning with two out.
