CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College lacrosse team debuts at No. 5 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association preseason poll, as announced by the organization on Monday. The Eagles capped their 2019 campaign ranked No. 2 in the poll. The team also earned a No. 5 preseason ranking in the US Lacrosse Magazine poll released earlier this month.
Head coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein's team earned 539 points in the opening poll, placing the Eagles behind reigning national champion Maryland, North Carolina, Northwestern and Syracuse. Last season, the Eagles had regular-season wins over the Tar Heels, Wildcats and Orange before earning an NCAA semifinal double-overtime win over North Carolina en route to its third straight national championship appearance.
