NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Cayla Barnes, Olivia Finocchiaro and Jillian Fey scored while Kelly Pickreign made 18 saves for the win as the eighth-ranked Boston College women's hockey team topped Merrimack, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon at Lawler Rink.
Barnes potted her first of the year late in the first for the 1-0 lead at the first intermission. Finocchiaro then found her second of the season – and the eventual game-winning goal – 6:33 into the middle frame before Fey potted her fifth eight minutes later.
Merrimack pulled a goal back late in the third, but the BC defense killed off a penalty and the extra-attacker over the final 75 seconds.
