WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The third-seeded Eagles defeated the sixth-seeded Stanford Cardinal by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday evening in the ACC Quarterfinals. BC improves to 13-5 and will play the No. 2 seed Duke in the semifinals tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. ET.
The Eagles got on the board midway through the second quarter as Martina Giacchino tipped in a shot from Peyton Hale on a penalty corner, which was inserted by Mia Garber. BC held the 1-0 lead heading into the half.
The Eagles struck again just two minutes into the second half on another penalty corner, as Madelief Grandjean fired a shot from the top of the circle, assisted by Madelieve Drion and Kiki de Bruijne.
