NEWTON, Mass. – Faced with a two-goal second half deficit, the Boston College men's soccer team fought back to tie Boston University twice in the final 30 minutes on Monday night at the Newton Campus Fields. The game between the crosstown rivals ultimately ended in a 3-3 tie – the first tie in the series since 1999.
The teams traded corners early in the first half but neither team produced much offensively in the first 40 minutes – until the Terriers scored with less than two minutes to play in the opening half.
That goal was a predictor for what would unfold in the second half, as seven minutes into the second half, BU went up 2-0 on Matt McDonnell's second goal of the night.
