CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The Arizona Diamondbacks selected Boston College pitcher John West with the 374th pick in the 12th round of the 2024 MLB Draft on Tuesday afternoon, becoming the 93rd player in program history to reach the next level of baseball.
After solidifying himself in the weekend rotation his junior year, John West (Shrewsbury, Mass.) emerged as the ace of the 2024 Eagles' pitching staff, starting a team-high 14 games with a team-low ERA among starting pitchers. West tallied five or more strikeouts in eight of his 14 starts, logging a team-high 66 punchouts in his senior campaign.
