CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Fencing captain Cameron Mayer was named the Northeast Fencing Conference 2019 Elliot Lilien Award winner while head coach Brendan Doris-Pierce was voted the Men's Team Coaching Staff of the Year award, as announced today by the conference.
Mayer was named the Elliot Lilien Award honoree for combining competitive excellence with excellent sportsmanship. The inscription on the trophy reads "Named after NFC founder, former Commissioner, and USA Fencing Hall of Fame-nominated coach Elliot Lilien. This award is given to that fencer in the conference who shows exemplary sportsmanship and an excellent parry system.
