Boston College shortstop Cody Morissette, who was ranked 59th by the MLB coming into this year’s draft, has been selected right around when expected, as the Florida Miami Marlins selected him in round 2 with the 52nd pick.
Morissette is the second Eagle to be drafted this year, following his teammate Sal Frelick who was picked in yesterday’s first round by the Milwaukee Brewers.
Morissette was an All-American as a sophomore and freshman, as well as being named to the All-ACC Second Team his freshman year. He has a .337 career batting average, 12 career home runs, 70 career runs scored, and 85 career RBIs.
