On Tuesday, September 5th, the Mayor of Boston, Martin J. Walsh, will honor former BC Baseball Captain Pete Frates with is own day at City Hall Plaza.
Frates will be recognized for his ongoing work and dedication to the fight against ALS, which has raised more than $220 million worldwide to-date. The celebration and dedication will also coincide with the release of the book The Ice Bucket Challenge: Pete Frates and the Fight against ALS which chronicles Pete’s daily fight against the horrible disease and the efforts of him and his family to not only raise funds for research, but to also raise awareness about ALS.
