LOS ANGELES – Christian Cavaliere closed out the second round of the 123rd U.S. Open on Friday with a 7-over 77 at the Los Angeles Country Club.
Cavaliere shot a 1-over 36 on the front 9 on Friday after posting a birdie on the par-3 9th hole, putting him near the cut line at plus-3 for the championship. The challenging back 9 at LACC, which includes three par-4's playing over 500 yards, led to a 6-over 41 to close the second round.
The 2020 Boston College graduate missed the cut in his U.S. Open debut after carding a 2-over 72 in the opening round of the tournament on Thursday.
