CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Sophomore goaltender Katie Burt was recognized as the Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. In two games last week, the Lynn, Mass., product backstopped the Eagles to a pair of shutout victories as the team opened conference play.
On Saturday in a 4-0 win over Maine, Burt made 17 saves to post the team's first shutout of the season. One day later on Sunday, Burt stopped all 26 shots New Hampshire sent her way en route to her second shutout in as many days.
The two wins moved her season record to 5-0-0, and dropped her goals against average to a Hockey East-best 1.
