Boston College to Retire Brian Gionta’s Jersey

On February 15th, Boston College will be retiring the jersey of BC men’s hockey legend Brian Gionta. Gionta played at Boston College for 4 seasons, graduating in 2001 and going in to play 16 seasons of professional hockey before retiring in 2018. He has 1 NCAA Championship (2001) and 1 Stanley Cup Championship (2003), and went to the Olympics for Team USA twice.

He is the all-time leading goal scorer in Boston College men’s hockey history with 123, and is second in program history with 232 career points. He also leads all BC MIH players with 9 career hat tricks as an Eagle.
