CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Twelve Boston College athletic teams were recognized Wednesday with the NCAA APR (Academic Progress Rate) Public Recognition Award.
Each year, the awards are bestowed upon teams finishing in the top 10 percent of their respective sport based on the most recent multi-year APR (2015-16). The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester or quarter by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete. The APR includes eligibility, retention and graduation in the calculation and provides a clear picture of the academic culture in each sport.
Boston College's 12 programs recognized include: men's cross country, women's fencing, men's golf, women's golf, women's hockey, lacrosse, men's skiing, women's skiing, men's swimming and diving, women's tennis, men's track and field, and volleyball.
