After a strong year on the softball diamond, BC’s Annie Murphy was voted BCI’s most improved female athlete of the year.
Murphy beat women’s basketball’s Taylor Ortlepp, women’s hockey’s Caitrin Lonergan, and women’s lacrosse’s Dempsey Arsenault.
Murphy, a senior in BC’s outfield corps, improved upon an already stellar junior year. Murphy improved upon a .333 average by hitting .360 during the year. Murphy also shined in conference play, hitting .440.
In addition, Murphy was named first-team All-ACC along with teammate, freshman Emme Martinez. Murphy was also named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American second team.
