Boston College Athletic Director Martin Jarmond announced the hiring of Jason Kennedy as the new women’s volleyball coach on Tuesday, filling the void left when Chris Campbell resigned late in November. Kennedy comes to the Heights after a three year stint as a member of the University of South California’s women’s volleyball coaching staff, including two years as an associate head coach.
In the past three seasons, the USC volleyball team has compiled an impressive record of 75-25 and reached the NCAA Tournament in each season. Kennedy will face what appears to be an uphill climb in his new role, where he will take over a team that went just 73-176 under Campbell.
