The Boston College Eagles men’s soccer team’s season got off to a strong start Thursday afternoon in Newton as the Eagles downed the Quinnipiac Bobcats 2-0.
The Eagles got on the board early. In the 10th minute, Adam French got his first goal of the season. Later in the game, freshman Amos Shapiro-Thompson got his first collegiate goal in the 77th minute, sealing the game for the Eagles.
Giacomo Piccardo, a freshman goalkeeper making his first career start, got his first career clean sheet with three saves on the day.
The Eagles return to action on Sunday when they take on cross-town rival Boston University in Allston.
