The Boston College women’s lacrosse team defeated UNC for only the third time in program history today, earning a 17-11 victory over the Tar Heels. This was also BC’s first ever regulation win over UNC, as both others have gone to overtime. With today’s win, the Eagles improved to 12-0 on the season. Also of note is that today’s game was the annual Red Bandana game, and captain Carly Bell wore a #19 in honor of Welles Crowther.
BC got off to an early 2-0 lead today thanks to goals from Taylor Walker and Emma Schurr, but within 2 minutes UNC had tied things up.
