The Boston College Eagles made easy work of their first opponent in this year’s NCAA Tournament, defeating Fairfield by a score of 19-6. Charlotte North individually outscored the Stags, picking up 7 goals of her own.
BC jumped out to an early 3-0 lead thanks to a pair of North goals (including a real rocket of a free position goal) and a sneaky goal by Annie Walsh. Fairfield scored next to get within 2 goals, but that was as close as the Stags would get to challenging the Eagles in any way.
In addition to North’s 7 goals and Walsh’s 1, BC picked up scoring from Jenn Medjid (4), Belle Smith (2), Cara Urbank (2), Andrea Reynolds (1), Kayla Martello (1), and senior transfer Bridget Simmons, who scored her first goal as an Eagle today.
