Bill O’Brien has a little more time to set up his coaching staff heading into year 2, and the first piece has moved into place. Per Pete Thamel, Jordan Thomas is expected to come on board as the team’s new defensive line coach. Thomas has been with the Browns for the past three season as an assistant defensive line coach.
In last week’s press conference, new Patriots Head Coach Mike Vrabel mentioned O’Brien as a key mentor breaking into the NFL coaching ranks with Houston. Vrabel, father of BC alum Tyler, said he’s looking to repay the favor as much as he can with O’Brien up at nearby Chestnut Hill.
