Despite outshooting Louisville 13-9, the Eagles lost to their ACC foes 4-1 yesterday. BC field hockey is now 0-5 in the ACC, but remains undefeated in non-conference play. The Eagles also led in shots on goal (8-7) and corners (4-2).
Louisville scored 4 unanswered goals, and BC was almost shut out. The Eagles avoided a shutout thanks to an awarded corner as time ran out. Frederique Haverhals sent Cassidy Atchison’s corner on net, and Junior Lucy Lytle deflected the ball past Louisville’s goalie.
The Eagles have struggled to come back from deficits this season. They are 1-5 when their opponent scores first and 0-5 when trailing at the end of the first half.
