The Boston College field hockey team completely shut down Wake Forest today in the first round of the ACC Tournament, defeating the Demon Deacons 2-0 and allowing 0 shots on goal. This is the first time BC has held an opponent to 0 SOG since 2011, and it earned goalie Sarah Dwyer her seventh shutout of the year.
Freshman Darcy Clement scored BC’s first (and game-winning goal) at 28:54 off of a corner. This was Clement’s first goal as an Eagle. Jaime Natale scored on an empty net with just a second remaining in the game to bump the final score to 2-0 Eagles.
