The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and the Fiesta Bowl announced Wednesday that Boston College was the 2019 winner of the Community Service Award. The award recognizes athletic departments and athletes that go above and beyond in integrating community work into their missions. It means even more to an institution that prides itself on Jesuit Ideals.
NACDA CEO Bob Veccione explained, “Boston College athletics has a strong tradition rooted in community service, and their efforts throughout the year proved that. The Adopt-A-Child program alone is impressive, but BC student-athletes have continued to go above and beyond to make an impact around campus and in the Boston area.
