CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Six Boston College athletic teams were recognized Wednesday with the NCAA APR (Academic Progress Rate) Public Recognition Award. Each year, the awards are bestowed upon teams finishing in the top 10 percent of their respective sport based on the most recent multi-year APR.
BC's six teams honored ranked tied for fourth-most among Atlantic Coast Conference schools. BC's football, men's cross country, women's lacrosse, women's skiing, women's swimming & diving, and women's tennis teams were recognized for the 2018-19 academic year.
Football is one of only 13 schools at the FBS level to earn a Public Recognition Award and one of five to earn an award for the last three years, joining Clemson, Northwestern, Navy, and Air Force.
