Johnny Adams was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Oxford Regional following Boston College's 6-3 victory over the Tulane Green Wave on Sunday. The win launched the Eagles into the Super Regionals round for the first time ever as it clinched their first bracket championship since 1967.
Adams was electric during the regional, going 7-for-12 with four doubles, three runs scored, and three RBI in three games. Against Tulane in the regional-clinching victory, Adams put together a game that will live in Boston College athletics infamy, going 4-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored.
In addition, Adams had six assists in the field behind BC pitching, including starting a double play that killed a bases loaded rally for the Green Wave in the final game of the bracket.
