Complete game, one-hit shutout is the first of its kind since a 2003 seven-inning game in the old Big East. King faced the absolute minimum by seeing only 27 batters.
Sophomore pitcher Mike King is the king of Kings.
King outdueled Georgia Tech pitcher Jonathan King with a career-high eight strikeouts, completing the first complete game, one-hit shutout performance in 12 years as Boston College defeated 24th-ranked Georgia Tech, 1-0, on Friday at Shea Field.
It was the first game of its kind since May 4, 2003 when Chris Lambert defeated Pittsburgh, 5-0, in a seven-inning game as part of the old Big East.
