Former Boston College hockey star Nathan Gerbe has found his way back to the NHL after a two year hiatus, signing a one year deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday. Gerbe played parts of eight seasons in the NHL between 2009 and 2016, spending time with the Buffalo Sabres and Carolina Hurricanes. Gerbe never found the offensive firepower that he was known for as an Eagle, but he was a solid player for the majority of his career, collecting 58 goals and 80 assists in his 394 career NHL games. Having last played for Carolina in the 2015-16 season, Gerbe spent the last two years playing in the Swedish League for Genève-Servette HC.
