The Minnesota Wild named Bill Guerin as their next general manager earlier on Wednesday, bringing an end to a search that began back in June after the firing of Paul Fenton, who had the job for just over a year.
Guerin spent two seasons with the Boston College men’s hockey team before enjoying a long and successful NHL career. Guerin was taken by the New Jersey Devils with the 5th overall pick in the 1989 draft and played in the league from 1991-2010. He spent time with eight different franchises and won two Stanley Cups as a player, once with the Devils and once with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
