Last week Boston College Women’s Hockey was handed its first loss of the season in embarrassing fashion, getting dominated by UConn on the road for a 5-2 loss in which BC trailed literally from the opening seconds. It was a bit of a reality check after the Eagles came out to such a hot start to the year at 9-0-1 with a soft schedule.
Here’s the worse news — despite only having one loss, the Eagles fell to 8th in the Pairwise Rankings, which would be out of the NCAA tournament. As we’re now at the 1/3rd marker of the regular season, it’s not exactly a small sample size.
