Well, that definitely happened.
After a great regular season and coming into the postseason as a #2 seed in the Hockey East tournament, you might have thought that Boston College Women’s Hockey could make a run to the title game and maybe give Northeastern a fight for some hardware. But there’s no sugarcoating it — the Eagles just straight-up did not show up to the game on Sunday night, falling 5-1 to UConn in the Hockey East quarterfinals in a game that unfortunately was as much of a blowout as the score says it was.
UConn did not play like a team that hadn’t faced anyone in two weeks.
