DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Boston College baseball team salvaged its series at Bethune-Cookman with a 14-5 win at Jackie Robinson Ballpark on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles improved to 4-2 on the season, while the Wildcats fell to 3-4.
Freshman right-handed pitcher Joe Mancini (Fairfield, Conn.) pitched five innings of one-run ball and needed just 59 pitches to earn the win. Mancini (1-0) allowed just two hits and one run, a solo home run in the second, with two walks in his first career start.
Boston College put up two crooked numbers early with four runs in the second and four again in the third.
