BRIGHTON, Mass. – The Boston College baseball team dropped the first of two games on the day, 4-1, to No. 25 Duke at the Harrington Athletics Village. The game was played in front of 617 fans at the Eagles (22-23, 8-15 ACC) Eighth Annual ALS Awareness Game.
The Blue Devils (26-17, 12-11 ACC) took advantage of three BC errors in the top of the first inning; plating three runs without a hit against freshman right-hander Mason Pelio (San Diego, Calif.). Pelio was in control for the next five innings as he retired 13 in a row at one point and 15 of 16 batters between the second and sixth.
