BRIGHTON, Mass. – The No. 17 Boston College baseball team was handed a 12-1, run-rule loss by No. 15 Connecticut at the Harrington Athletics Village on Wednesday night. The loss dropped the Eagles to 24-12, while the Huskies moved up to 27-10.
UConn scored in six consecutive innings after the first, plating a pair of runs on a two-run home run by designated hitter Luke Broadhurst in the seventh that pushed the lead past 10 and set up a seven-inning, run-rule scenario. Broadhurst went 2-for-4 with four RBI, three runs and two walks.
BC pitchers combined to walk 11 batters, while allowing 14 hits.
