Boston College softball came into this season with pretty high hopes, but some of those expectations were diminished in the opening weekend, as the Eagles went 0-4 with losses to Texas Tech, Texas A&M (twice), and Houston.
Texas Tech
A 4-2 loss in nine innings, the Eagles fought valiantly, ultimately coming up short. Jessica Dreswick threw a solid six innings, allowing only two runs, but when Ally Frei gave up a two run home run in the top of the ninth, the Eagles could not bounce back in the home half of the inning.
Texas A&M
Going into the fifth inning, the game was tied 1-1, but when the Aggies tacked on two runs in their half of the fifth, the Eagles had no answers for the rest of the game.
